The recent storms that swept across Victoria casued the Alexandra Speedway Club to cancel the race meeting scheduled for Sunday 7th March.

Under lovely sunny conditions, the club made the decision late in the morning after an agonising period considering all the issues involved. Competitors agreed with the decision which was a bitter pill considering the warm sunny conditions of the time.

But few doubted the forecast of massive storms predicted for later in the day.

Not wanting to make the trip in vein, a number of teams took the opportunity to test their machinery one last time before the State Title in Hamilton in two weeks.

The SDAV would like to thank the members of the Alexandra Speedway for their hospitality over the weekend and trust the Licensee of Alexandra's Shamrock Hotel will be able to restock their fridges in time for next weekend. For a weekend without racing, it was sure a great one enjoyed by all.
