The Drouin Round of Thunder Downunder 2009/10 for the ground shaking SDAV Hot Rods has now been run and won.
In Hot and Humid conditions, the SDAV Hot Rods put on one hell of a show for the sun drenched spectators.
SDAV President Phil Jenkins was full of praise for the efforts of the volunteer officials who battled hard all day to keep the track racy with minimal dust. "In very trying conditions, I would like to congratulate everyone involved with the meeting, they all did a remarkable job in challenging circumstances."
On commenting on the racing, Jenkins reflected, "It was great to see Shannon Meakins making his open wheel debut, and he did a great job of it driving the No 25 car affectinately known as Kermit."
Their was some great racing throughout the pack which I am sure the spectators would have really enjoyed.
Everyone in the SDAV pits, especially Vaughan and Ally were happy to see the black No. 12 racer return to the trailer undamaged after their recent run of bad luck.
Great to see Rod Smith helping out in the pits. Rod's has begun construction of a new car for season 2010/11. The entire SDAV community are behind Rod after his horrific crash at the end of last season.
Stay tune for a full race report from DMT media.
